Peter McManus is a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast who started riding in 1939, aged 16, on a 1930 175cc Triumph two-stroke...and still has one! He is not a born-again motorcyclist, as he never died in the first place! Having served his engineering apprenticeship in Derby, he then joined Rolls-Royce technical staff immediately after the war, where he met Chris Harrison. Peter and his old friend Harry 'T' Tunaley both left Rolls-Royce to start in the motorcycle industry in Derby, and then Peter continued in the business with his wife Edna. His previous books include the One Man's trilogy: One Man's Motorcycles 1939-1949, One Man's Scotland and One Man's Gun Quest followed by Richthofen Jagdstaffel Ahead. Peter and Edna live in South Derbyshire, accompanied by their own herd of red deer and, of course, motorcycles. See less
