Paul A. Sukys is an attorney and professor emeritus of applied philosophy, humanities, and law at North Central State College in Mansfield, Ohio, where he has taught courses in business law; the legal and ethical aspects of health care; leadership and the humanities; American government; philosophy and science; ethics; science, art, and literature; introduction to the humanities; Eastern philosophy; the philosophy of religion; and Western philosophy. Paul A. Sukys is an attorney and professor emeritus of applied philosophy, humanities, and law at North Central State College in Mansfield, Ohio, where he has taught courses in business law; the legal and ethical aspects of health care; leadership and the humanities; American government; philosophy and science; ethics; science, art, and literature; introduction to the humanities; Eastern philosophy; the philosophy of religion; and Western philosophy. He has also taught at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Ashland University, and Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland. He is the sole author of Lifting the Scientific Veil: Science Appreciation for the Nonscientist and Business Law with UCC Applications and co-author of Civil Litigation and Understanding Business and Personal Law . He has written numerous articles, including "The Hobby Lobby Teachable Moment: Veil Piercing, Corporate Rights, and the Legal Debate," ( Business Education Forum ) and "Robinson's Theological Catch 22 and Emerson's Divine Man: When Good Intentions Go Wrong," ( Community College Humanities Review ). He has also made various presentations at professional conferences, including a session at the National Business Education Association convention in 2018, entitled, "Employment Law in the 21st Century: Can Basic Principles Survive Under Social, Religious, and Political Pressure?" Sukys earned his doctorate in applied philosophy and art history at the Union Institute and University in Cincinnati. He received undergraduate and graduate degrees in English Literature from John Carroll University in Cleveland, where he taught as a graduate associate. He earned his law degree at the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, the law school of Cleveland State University. Sukys is a member of the Ohio Bar, the National Business Education Association (NBEA), the Community College Humanities Association (CCHA), the Christian Legal Society, the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA), and the Chautauqua Literary and Scientific Circle (CLSC). He currently serves as a docent at the Cleveland Museum of Art and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Malabar Farm Foundation, the home of the Pulitzer Prize-winning author Louis Bromfield.
