Patrick A. Messerlin is a professor of economics at Institut d'etudes politiques de Paris and director of Groupe d'Economie Mondiale. He is also consultant to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the European Union Commission. From 1986 to 1990 he was a senior economist at the research department of the World Bank.
