Pamela B. Teaster is a Professor and Director of the Graduate Center for Gerontology, and Chair of the Department of Gerontology at the University of Kentucky. Pamela B. Teaster is a Professor and Director of the Graduate Center for Gerontology, and Chair of the Department of Gerontology at the University of Kentucky. She serves on the Editorial Board of The Gerontologist, Journal of Applied Gerontology, and Journal of Elder Abuse and Neglect. President of the National Committee for the Prevention of Elder Abuse and the Kentucky Guardianship Association, she is also Director for the Kentucky Justice Center for Elders and Vulnerable Adults. Dr. Teaster recently served on the National Academy of Sciences Committee on Social Security and Representative Payees, American Bar Association Commission on Law and Aging, and Center for Guardianship Certification. A Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America and Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine, she recently received the Kentucky Guardianship Award for her contributions to the state, as well as the Rosalie Wolf Award for Research on Elder Abuse. Dr Teaster has authored more than 70 peer-reviewed articles, reports, books, and book chapters. She earned her BS and MA Degrees at the University of Tennessee, and her PhD from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. See less
