Paul D. Palmore grew up in the Philippines, a son of Presbyterian missionaries. He studied at Silliman University in the city of Dumaguete until he graduated from high school. Paul D. Palmore grew up in the Philippines, a son of Presbyterian missionaries. He studied at Silliman University in the city of Dumaguete until he graduated from high school. Then, he traveled to America; and received his AB (TV, film Acting) and MA (Acting, Technical Theatre) in Theatre from the University of Michigan. In 1973, he started teaching theatre. He continued his studies at the University of Hawaii, receiving an MFA in Theatre Design in 1983. Over the course of several decades, he has taught theatre at four different schools: - Silliman University, Philippines, University of Hawaii, Honolulu, Kamehameha Schools, Honolulu, and Punahou School, Honolulu. He has acted, directed and designed more than 150 productions. He was Director of Theatre at Punahou School, Honolulu, Hawaii for 17 years. Previous to that, he was Director of Drama at Kamehameha Schools for 12 years. He is married to Helen Grace de Leon of Kalibo, Aklan, Philippines. They have three children - Andrew, P.
