Orlagh Farrell Delaney worked as a nurse in the USA for a decade before returning to Ireland, where she obtained an MA in Women's Studies from University College Dublin in 1999 and later a PhD in Applied Social Studies from the National University of Ireland Maynooth in 2020. Orlagh Farrell Delaney worked as a nurse in the USA for a decade before returning to Ireland, where she obtained an MA in Women's Studies from University College Dublin in 1999 and later a PhD in Applied Social Studies from the National University of Ireland Maynooth in 2020. From 1999 until 2003, she was employed as an Education Officer in the Women's Education Research Resource Centre at University College Dublin, where she developed and provided outreach education programmes to women. She has researched and published in the areas of infertility and involuntary childlessness and the experience of divorce. She became ill with ME in 2002, and continues to walk a healing path of intentional living and self-reliance, growing food organically and caring for rescued animals.
