Nathan Whiting has called central and northern Wisconsin his home for his whole life, but that doesn't mean he hasn't ventured forth to some of the spiritual centers of the world. Nathan has just returned from a spiritual sojourn to Machu Picchu located in Peru, South America. Adding to the list of spiritual adventures are two visits to the Mayan Chichenitza pyramids in the Yucatan region of Mexico and multiple visits to the natural spiritual centers of the western United States including Yosemite, Bear Tooth Pass, and Glacier National Park, along with various adventurous side trips to western ghost town haunts. After cleaning up from drugs and alcohol in May of 1981, he struck out on a spiritual quest to find meaning and purpose to his life. Just being sober and straight was not enough for him; he wanted to keep drinking (spiritually speaking) from the top shelf, just as when he would find himself sitting long-faced in a bar and requesting the best the house had to offer.
