Monica grew up in the Detroit metro area, where she earned a degree in early-childhood growth and development. After a decade of working as a preschool teacher and program director, Monica put her dreams on hold to pursue true love. She relocated to Chicago to be with the love of her life, David, whom she later married. While in Chicago, she excelled in her sales position with one of the world's largest producers of wine and spirits. She was living the life! It was during a sales incentive trip that she had an epiphany. In that moment, she knew there was more to life than sales numbers and fancy trips. She knew she was meant for more-not more things but more love and more connection. Choosing to retire early in her sales career, Monica created yumbitz (cookies on a mission) as a means to give back, providing more than twenty thousand meals to local hungry children through each sale. She has often been asked what inspired her to leave her very lucrative career to take a leap of faith with her cookie company. Once she started sharing her story, people wanted more! They liked the cookies but loved the stories. Monica decided to follow her dreams, listen to the whispers, pay attention to the visions, and follow the signs that she had been experiencing for so many years. She closed yumbitz and began to share the wonder of her experiences. See less
