Michael DiMattina, M.D. has been performing IVF since 1984. Dr. DiMattina is the Director and founder of Dominion Fertility. He is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and subspecialty certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Michael DiMattina, M.D. has been performing IVF since 1984. Dr. DiMattina is the Director and founder of Dominion Fertility. He is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and subspecialty certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He recently completed his recertification examinations in both of these specialties. Dr. DiMattina attended The American University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Chemistry. He then performed cancer research at the National Institutes of Health(NIH) before attending medical school at the Medical College of Virginia. He completed his internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC and his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Georgetown and the NIH. During that time he also studied advanced techniques in IVF at Kings College Hospital in London, England. Following his fellowship he joined the faculty at Georgetown University School of Medicine before establishing Dominion Fertility in 1987. His list of accomplishments at Dominion Fertility includes the first IVF baby in Arlington County, Virginia, the first GIFT babies in the Washington-Metropolitan area, and the first ZIFT, Ova Donor and cryo-thawed IVF pregnancies in Arlington. His current interests include Natural Cycle IVF. Dr. DiMattina is a Clinical Associate Professor in obstetrics and gynecology at Georgetown University Hospital and actively participates in education providing weekly lectures in Reproductive Endocrinology at the Virginia Hospital Center to the Obstetrics and Gynecology interns, residents and medical students from the Georgetown University School of Medicine. For his teaching activities, the residents and faculty at Georgetown have honored him.
