Prof Mehebub Sahana is currently a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow and Lecturer in GIS in the Department of Geography at The University of Manchester, UK. He is a cultural and environmental geographer with an interest in analysing land-use changes. Conceptually, his work focuses on landscape alterations and consequences on sustainability issues in developing countries. His present research interests include social-environmental interface, socio-ecological resilience and systems thinking; land cover change; rural-urban conversion and the socio-political implications of land-use dynamics. Dr Sahana contributes as a specialist analyst to the Peri-cene project that investigates peri-urbanization and climate risk in city-regions around the world. See less
