Master Taino
Master Taíno is a Leatherman, Kinkster and Master who has been active in his community since the late 80s. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, he relocated to the Washington, DC area in 1983. Master Taíno is a Leatherman, Kinkster and Master who has been active in his community since the late 80s. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, he relocated to the Washington, DC area in 1983. He has a Leather Family of 18 members. He founded MTTA, Inc., a non-profit organization that runs MTTA Academy and the annual Master/slave Conference (MsC), among other programs. He was the Executive Producer of MsC since its inception in 2004 until 2022. He has presented workshops around the country since 2001 and has been a keynote speaker at several events. He is a contributor of the book "Our Lives, Our History", an anthology of the history Master/slave Relationships throughout the centuries. He also published his memoirs in Spanish in 2017.He has been honored with the "Leather Leathership Award 2023" by the National LGBTW Task Force, the "Guy Baldwin Master/slave Heritage Award 2019" at MsC, the Vi Johnson Award at Black Beat 2012, the Pantheon of Leather's "Man of the Year 2011 Award", the "Master Steve Golden Paintbrush Award 2011" at the Southwest Leather Conference, the "Jack Stice Memorial Award 2010" at South Plains Leather Fest, and the "Black Rose Vaughn Keith National Educator Award" in October 2009, among others.He founded MAsT Washington in 1999, one of the oldest chapters, and was its director for a record 23 years until he stepped down in 2022.Since 2015, Master Taíno has been traveling to Costa Rica where he has presented countless classes to different local groups and helped in the creation of the MAsT San José chapter.
