Mary Sands

Sands spent a period of 16 years and covered 2000 miles hiking the Appalachian Trail. She was a leader, teacher, mother, and friend to 135 Girl Scouts along the way. She was an active Girl Scout leader fro 30 years and is a member of the Sierra Club and the Appalachian Trail Conference. She also works as a school crossing guard for the Louisville, Kentucky Police Department.
