Mary Greensted
For nearly ten years Mary Greensted was Deputy Director of Cheltenham Art Gallery and Museums with special responsibility for the applied arts collections and she organized the museum's exhibition of the Barnsleys' work 'Good Citizen's Furniture'. She has co-authored/edited three books on the gallery's arts and crafts collections: Good Citizen's Furniture (with Annette Carruthers, 1994), Simplicity or Splendour (with Annette Carruthers, 1999) and Originality and Initiative (with Sophia Wilson, 2003). Mary also contributed a chapter on the Arts and Crafts Movement in Rural England to the publication accompanying the Victoria and Albert Museum's exhibition International Arts and Crafts in 2005.
