English born, Martin Simons was a school teacher, glider pilot, writer and lecturer in London University. With his family, wife and two daughters, he left England in 1968 to take up a Lectureship at the University of Adelaide in South Australia, retiring from this post in 1993. He has published school textbooks, academic papers, some short stories, many articles and some substantial books about gliding. Some of his works have been translated for publication in Germany and one, about aerodynamics, in China. Now widowed he continues flying and writing. In recent years has turned to writing novels.
