Martin Belmont started playing guitar for a living in 1972. His first full time band was Ducks Deluxe. He was one of the founder members of The Rumour who met up with Graham Parker in 1975. They recorded 6 albums and toured the UK (many times), Europe (many times), the USA (many times), Australia and New Zealand (twice) and Japan. They stopped working together in 1980. Martin played with Carlene Carter, Nick Lowe, Paul Carrack, Elvis Costello (two tours as last minute substitute) Hank Wangford, My Darling Clementine, Reg Meuross and many sessions and one off gigs with artists as varied as Desmond Decker, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins (playing on the same stage and standing next to George Harrison). 30 years after last working together Graham asked the members of The Rumour to join him in Woodstock NY to record what turned out to be Three Chords Good. Later that year of 2011 The Rumour spent a week in Hollywood playing themselves in the Judd Apatow movie 'This is 40'. Three US tours, three UK tours, one with a short trip to Europe followed and in 2014 the album 'Mystery Glue' was recorded at RAK studios in London. After the final gigs in 2015 Martin recklessly decided to write this songbook. He lives in North West London. See less
