Marni Backer

Marni Backer Deimler graduated from the University of the Arts in 1992, and has since worked as an artist, a writer, a food allergy advocate and mom. Marni Backer Deimler graduated from the University of the Arts in 1992, and has since worked as an artist, a writer, a food allergy advocate and mom. She has been a college teacher, children's book illustrator, illustrator, graphic designer, commissioned painter, and writer. Marni started out illustrating with New York representative Libby Ford, has illustrated numerous books and has been recognized by the Society of Illustrators. Marni is currently following her love of writing, with her latest works, including "America Is", "Night-Night Zombies" and "The Food Allergy Squad", all of which she wrote and illustrated/designed. The latter book, being inspired by her son who has multiple life-threatening food allergies. This "America Is" book inspired her newer 9 volume coffee table series, "America Is YOU!"; each book is roughly 200 pages of creatively designed and easy to flip through. The series is a call of action of sorts, inspiration and a basic knowledge of what America is about, through it's legends, their quotes and inspiring messages. See less
