Mark Seeley joined the faculty of the University of Minnesota Department of Soil, Water, and Climate in 1978. Since that time he has served as Extension Climatologist and Meteorologist, working closely with the National Weather Service, the Minnesota State Climatology Office, and various state agencies, as well as regional Extension Offices around the state. He has served as a weekly commentator on Minnesota Public Radio's Morning Edition news program and written the weekly newsletter Minnesota WeatherTalk since 1992. He is also a frequent guest on Minnesota Public Television's "Almanac" program. Dr. Seeley has edited numerous children's books on weather and climate, and he is author of Minnesota Weather Almanac published by the Minnesota Historical Society Press and nominated for the Minnesota Book Awards in 2006.
