MARK PIMENTEL, MD, FRCPC, is the Director of the Gastrointestinal Motility Program and Laboratory at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and also serves as an Assistant Professor in Residence for the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Pimentel s primary research interests include irritable bowel syndrome and its relationship to small intestinal motility and bacterial overgrowth, others being gastric motility in diabetes. He is a member of several professional organizations like the Medical Council of Canada, American Gastroenterological Association and American College of Gastroenterology. Dr. Pimentel has been awarded various investigator-driven grants related to gastrointestinal motility. He has written articles for peer-reviewed publications such as "Archives of Internal Medicine, American Journal of Gastroenterology", etc. He has also authored the book "A New IBS Solution". See less
