Marie Geissler is a cultural historian who has worked in the field of Indigenous art for over thirty years. She has a particular interest in Arnhem Land bark painting and the ways Indigenous Australian art has been critical in promoting the self-determination histories of Indigenous Australians. Marie is currently at the National Museum of Australia in Canberra, where she is researching its bark painting collection.
