Maria-Victoria Petit-Lavall is a Spanish national and has been working at the University since 1990, being a Full Professor of Commercial Law at Jaume I-University, Castellon (Spain) since 2008. She holds a Law Degree (1988), a Business Studies Degree (1990) and a PhD in Law (1993) from the University of Valencia. Maria-Victoria Petit-Lavall is a Spanish national and has been working at the University since 1990, being a Full Professor of Commercial Law at Jaume I-University, Castellon (Spain) since 2008. She holds a Law Degree (1988), a Business Studies Degree (1990) and a PhD in Law (1993) from the University of Valencia. Mrs Petit has also been substitute Judge at the Castellon Court of Appeal for fifteen years. She is the author of some one hundred publications, among monographs, articles in scientific reviews and contributions to collective works on various subjects of Commercial Law (Company Law, Banking Law, Insurance Law, Competition Law, Intellectual Property and mostly Transport Law). She has also edited and/or coordinated eleven collective works. These include the following monographs: Legal status of auditing of financial statements, ICAC, Madrid, 1994; Consumer protection credit: abusive credit terms, Tirant lo Blanch, Valencia, 1996; Agreements between airlines in the Community legislation liberalizing the air transport sector, Tirant lo Blanch, Valencia, 2000; Liability for damages in international air cargo, Comares, Granada, 2007; PETIT-LAVALL/SÁNCHEZ PAVÓN, Future prospects of airport management in Spain, Galician Institute of Transportation Studies and Infrastructure, A Coruña, 2008; Air and Space law, Marcial Pons, Madrid 2014 (co-authored with MORILLAS JARILLO & GUERRERO LEBRÓN). Prof. Petit has participated as a speaker at numerous courses, masters, PhD courses, seminars and conferences in Spain and abroad, and she has been a visiting Professor at the Universities of Bologna; San Carlos (Guatemala), UTEM (Santiago de Chile); Gabriel René Moreno (Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia), Autonomous University of Mexico, among others. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the following scientific journals: Revista de Derecho del Transporte; European Journal of Commercial Contract Law; Revista Aranzadi Civil doctrinal; La Ley Mercantil; and Diritto dei Trasporti. She has also formed part of numerous tribunals to judge PhD thesis and of different boards of examination for future professors and lecturers, and she has been a member of the research group or the director of more than fifteen competitively funded research projects.
