Maria Alexandra Tobias grew up hearing colorful stories of her relatives who had fled Russia after the Revolution and eventually settled in the U.S., Both the Orthodox Church and Russian culture were central influences on Maria, and family prayer was a natural part of her early life. After graduating from Harvard University, where she studied English and American literature, she traveled to and worked in Russia, then later taught highschool English in California. Her husband, Fr. Peter, is the priest of St. Anthony Orthodox Mission in Bozeman, Montana. Maria is currently a stay-at-home mother of two (Elizabeth and Gregory), as well as a writer. See less
