Margarita Sikorskaia was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, and grew up a free-spirited tomboy, climbing trees, zooming on a bike, communing with forest spirits, and getting into trouble. But she could also sit quietly and draw for hours on end. Nature was her guide and inspiration. Margarita came to Minneapolis in 1990 after training in classical art at the Hertzen Pedagogical University of St. Petersburg.
