Margaret Mann, 66, has spent her life as a community organizer. She currently makes her living as a writer and counselor. In recent years she served as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the local LGBT community center and the program director of the Lesbian Breast Cancer Project. Prior to returning home to Hawaii in 2003 she worked in Washington DC for twenty years for various national agencies dealing with women's issues (National Women's Health Network, League of Women Voters, Older Women's League and National Osteoporosis Foundation) or disability issues (Disability Right Council and Endependence Center of Northern Virginia).
