Marcela Cespedes-Alicea was born and raised in Cali, Colombia, and holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the Universidad Autonoma de Occidente . She left the Salsa Capital of the World (the dance, not the chips) in 2012 to come to the U.S. to pursue an illustration MFA after working in advertising for a while.
