Lynette Mercer was born in Melbourne, Australia. The eldest of the three daughters of missionary teachers, the Rev.Dr.Alan & Edna Tippett, she came to Fiji with her parents as a two year old child. She has resided and worked on most of the major (and a few small!) islands of the Fiji Group, speaks two dialects fluently ... with a smattering of a few others including Hindi!
