Mr. Pelletier's research focuses on patient engagement, nursing leadership education, and the effectiveness of nurse residency programs. With over 40 years of experience, he maintains a consultancy practice and has held appointments as adjunct faculty with the University of San Diego Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science; National University; University of Phoenix; California State University, Dominguez Hills; University of California, Los Angeles; and the George Washington University.'He is a graduate of Yale University (MSN) and Fairfield University (BSN). Mr. Pelletier is a technical writer and editor and publishes widely in the areas of nursing administration, quality, safety, and patient engagement, including several books, numerous book chapters and peer reviewed articles. He has participated in local and national initiatives focusing on safe and equitable care for persons with enduring behavioral health challenges. As a nurse expert with the U.S. Department of Justice, scientific consultant to the National Institutes of Health, and consultant to the National Quality Forum, he helped inform systems of care and national policy standards.'Mr. Pelletier is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and NAHQ. For nine years, he served as editor-in-chief for the Journal for Healthcare Quality. Mr. Pelletier received the Yale School of Nursing Distinguished Alumnae/i Award in 2017.
