Liz Stannard has been involved with the Pekingese for some thirty years, breeding, showing and judging them. In partnership with her husband, she set up the Shiarita kennel and bred her first Champion in 1970. Since then she has owned 15 Champions, nearly all homebred, and her kennel is known worldwide for producing top-quality stock. Liz Stannard has been involved with the Pekingese for some thirty years, breeding, showing and judging them. Since then she has owned 15 Champions, nearly all homebred, and her kennel is known worldwide for producing top-quality stock. Liz was Britain's top Pekingese breeder throughout the eighties, and owned Ch. Shiarita Cassidy, the Top Toy and Top Stud Dog. Shiarita Pekingese have won Best in Show at all levels, including all breed Championship Shows. A number of winning kennels have based their lines on Shiarita, and there have been Champions carrying the prefix to many countries. Liz is a Championship judge of the breed, and has travelled all over the world on judging appointments. In 1992 she had the honour of judging Pekingese at Crufts. A prolific writer on Pekingese, Liz is also in great demand for her judging and breed seminars. See less
