Leslie Hammond is the name I use as a writer. At the age if fifty eight years, I've had a normal up bringing with wonderful patents and later, a marriage which can only be described as a true 'fairy tale' as the Lady who I fell in love some thirty nine years ago still brings excitement and happiness to me, in our everyday lives! We are extremely close and as deeply in love now, as the day we first clamped eyes on one and other! Work has enabled us to travel the world and having been involved with engineering, ships, mining and host of other interesting projects all stemmed from a typical boy's interest in steam locomotives, railways and ships. Making friends with people from all walks of life and enjoying the modern communications, lets us stay in touch with friends from far off lands. Father of two wonderful children, I'm so pleased to have seen them grow and learn to become respectful and fun adults, who can best be described as 'good people'! Behind every good man is a good woman so they say. I totally agree as I've got 'the best Lady in the world' for my wife, she is just a magic person. Leaving engine rooms, heavy equipment and mine sites behind, my dress code has changed from overalls and boots, to a crisp white shirt and polished brown shoes. My work place is now a board room though, the sights and sounds of workshops and engineering works, ships and equipment are still very much with me. Many people ask me what's the biggest buzz I get from traveling to far off shores to work, the answer is simple! To see others perhaps less fortunate than myself be given the opportunity to have go and, make a success of what they learnt. Sharing and helping others is just wonderful and, relating some of those experiences with the hope that others can learn and become more contented and satisfied with their lives. As a proud Welshman whose British through and through, I'm also very proud of our Queen and Country. See less
