Michele Leembruggen is the author of A Hole Where My Heart Should Be: Lifting the Curse of Intergenerational Trauma. Michele's debut book is a memoir about her experience of childhood abuse and neglect and how underneath the surface of her seemingly successful life she was drowning in depression and emotional pain so crippling that she barely survived, until trauma therapy allowed her to befriend her inner tormentors and set herself free. Before finding her true passion in writing, Michele completed Bachelor of Music and Master of Environment degrees at the University of Melbourne. She has enjoyed a varied career in the publishing industry in sales and copywriting roles at Longman Cheshire and Pearson Professional (many, many moons ago); the waste reduction industry; and more recently in local and state government, developing strategies and designing energy efficiency programs for commercial buildings. Today Michele has come home to herself in writing her memoir and has an intriguing idea for her next book, a novel set in the endurance racing world, with a focus on human psychology. Michele lives in Melbourne, Australia with her partner, two cats - one very big and the other very loud - and her opinionated mare, Tuala. See less
