Larry Monroe is the Chicago White Sox vice president of free agent and major league scouting, a position he has held since October of 1994. Prior to assuming his present position, he served as the White Sox's vice president of scouting and minor league operations from 1990 to 1994. A former right-handed pitcher for the Chicago White Sox, Monroe has 29 years of experience with the White Sox organization as a player, scout, minor league instructor, and coach. He served as both a special assistant to the general manager and major league scout before taking over vice president duties. He received all-conference baseball honors three times and all-area baseball honors twice in high school, and was the White Sox number one selection in their June 1974 free agent draft. In his 1976 major league debut, he pitched two scoreless, hitless innings. See less
