LARRY CARELLO hails from the town of Sylvan Beach in central New York state. After graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy, he embarked on a four-decade adventure in aviation. He has flown a wide variety of military and commercial aircraft, and he spent five years attached to a San Diego-based H-46 squadron, during which he made two shipboard deployments to the Western Pacific. His first book, A Golden Weekend, received first runner-up honors from the Military Writers Society of America in the category of Best Literary Novel of 2012. He followed that work with Rotorboys and Verbal Orders, two fast-paced novels of men, ships, and helicopters at sea. Larry retired from commercial flying in 2016 as an international captain for a major U.S. airline. He lives with his wife in Michigan, where he continues to write white-knuckle thrillers about helicopters and the pilots who fly them. See less
