Keith Quincy is the author of numerous books in philosophy, economics, biography, and Asian history. He is also the author of a new translation of Plato's dialogues, and two novels. A renowned teacher, he received an award for outstanding teaching from the American Political Science Association . Quincy's interest in the Hmong is more than academic. Many Hmong have become his closest friends. He has sponsored Hmong immigrants, found Hmong jobs, and helped with their education. Awarded a football scholarship at UCLA, he played in the Rose Bowl and graduated with a B.A. in philosophy. With academic scholarships, he went on to receive an M.A. in political science, also at UCLA. And a Ph.D. in philosophy at Claremont Graduate University. After teaching philosophy at U.C. Riverside and Cal Poly Pomona, Quincy accepted a position at Eastern Washington University, teaching political philosophy. Before his retirement from teaching, Quincy also served as chairman of the Government Department. Quincy lives with his wife, Anna, on their horse ranch in Spokane, Washington. After many years of competition in dressage and reining, Quincy divides his time between caring for his horses, feeding wild ducks and turkeys, and his writing.
