Kaveh Basmenji was born in 1961 Iran, where he worked as a journalist, writer and translator for more than twenty years before continuing his career abroad. He has translated several works of Western literature into Persian, including works by Edgar Allan Poe, Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Milan Kundera.
