Katherine Taylor is a college student living in the Midwest. She grew up in a fairly large family and dedicated most of her youth to athletics. Upon graduating high school, she discovered a passion for travel and began taking advantage of every opportunity to go abroad that her school offered. During her travels, she began journaling about her experiences, and this habit ignited a passion for writing that she had never previously experienced. She began to journal in her free time even while at home. The reflections and events detailed in her personal journal inspired her to write her first novel at the age of twenty. Her first work, Finding Your Bearings, is a fictional novel that draws on many of her actual experiences. While the events and characters are riddled with false details, many are based on actual events and people from her life, and many of her reflections throughout the story are her true feelings. On top of her full-time job during the summer, she wrote and independently published Finding Your Bearings in eight weeks. Besides allowing her eldest sister to read her first draft and share her opinion, she received no outside help for her work. Despite her continued status as a full-time student, she will continue her writing and has plans for several other novels already. See less
