Katharine Beutner is an assistant professor of English at the College of Wooster in Ohio; previously, she taught at the University of Hawai`i at Manoa. Her first novel, Alcestis (Soho Press, 2010), won the Edmund White Debut Fiction Award in 2011 and was a finalist for other awards, including the Lambda Literary Association's Lesbian Debut Fiction Award.
