Karin Volkwein

Karin A. E. Volkwein-Caplan, PhD, a native German, is Associate Professor of Philosophy/History/Sociology of Sport and Physical Education in the Department of Kinesiology at West Chester University of Pennsylvania. She has widely researched and published on gender and racial issues, as well as ethics and sport. Her books include Fitness as Cultural Phenomenon (1998) and HIV/AIDS and Sport (co-edited with Gopal Sankaran and Dale Bonsall, 1999).
