Karen Grote has spent more than thirty years in Recreational Therapy, mostly in behavioral health settings. Since earning her master's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Karen has worked to develop the profession as a therapist, supervisor, educator, and as a mentor. She was one of the earlier presidents of the American Therapeutic Recreation Association, serving in FY 1991.
