Kanchana Ugbabe was born in Chennai and educated in Australia. She is currently a professor at the University of Jos, Nigeria, and has participated in the Iowa International Writing Program. Kanchana lives with her family in Jos and actively mentors young Nigerian writers. Soulmates is her first collection of short stories.
