Jurjen Battjes is Emeritus Professor at Technische Universiteit Delft, the Netherlands. Now retired, Professor Battjes had a long career in university teaching and research in the field of fluid mechanics. He taught courses in modelling, introductory fluid mechanics, unsteady flow in open channels, and wind-generated waves, the latter being his major research topic.
