A lifetime resident of Akron, Judy Orr James traces her Summit County roots to the early 1800s, when her German immigrant ancestors settled in what is now Coventry Township. She is a graduate of Kent State University's School of Library and Information Science and the National Archives Modern Archives Institute. Judy retired from the Akron-Summit County Public Library after serving for more than thirty-five years as a reference librarian and manager of Special Collections, the library's local history and genealogy department. Her love of local history, family history and food was the inspiration for this book. She and her husband, Jeff, live in the heart of Akron in a neighborhood that was once home to many of Akron's early Irish immigrants. See less
