Judith Humphries is new to writing fiction after more than forty years in social work and teaching, twenty five of which were in a hospice where bereavement and end of life care were her areas of work and loss and dealing with loss is a regular theme in her work. Writing fiction is a new experience. In her previous work Judith's main concern was the beliefs and feelings of other people and helping them to make sense of what was happening in their lives. But with fiction it is all internal, here it is Judith's own imagination and ideas that are needed to create a story. Judith is an exiled Geordie, has been for over 40 years but remains a fan of Newcastle United. She lives with her husband in East Yorkshire. She has two children and three grandsons. Writing about the adventures of April Carter was her way of dealing with the horrors and boredom of Covid 19 lockdown. There are three more April adventures almost ready for publication and further day to day adventures of April can be found on Judith's Facebook pages. See less
