Joyce Norman is a career journalist, having worked for a major newspaper, and also a foreign correspondent in the Middle East. She later returned to Israel and directed several documentaries on The Faces of the Middle East, describing this unique country's peoples and their history and Israel's turbulent future. She is the author of 8 books of her own and has ghostwritten 21 novels/non-fiction for authors around the world. Co-owner of Chalet Publishing, Joyce edited all books that publishing house produced. When her son was a toddler he loved being read to. After they had gone through every children's book in his bookcase, she soon resorted to making up stories. After her son's first grade teacher told me that Clay (my son) wasn't listening very well in class, I made up A Frog Named Rabbit about a tiny frog who didn't pay attention at school. Her idea was to put a frog in a "not-paying -attention" scenario to show children that listening is so important. This frog gets in some trouble because he didn't listen and has an extremely scary and hair-raising adventure. Carrie Leigh Porter is a graduate of The University of Alabama in Birmingham, majoring in Art Studio. Initially, her love for children compelled her to be an elementary school teacher, but now her passion is illustrating children's books. A picture is said to be worth a thousand words. What better way to share in a child's learning experience than to tell a story through (or with) pictures? Her goal is to make a book "come alive" and expand the imagination of every child who experiences her drawings. See less
