Joseph H. Di Leo received his M.D. from the University of Bologna and did postgraduate work at the Universities of Bologna and Rome and the Yale Clinic of Child Development. He served on the Faculty of the New York University School of Medicine, directed the Developmental Clinic at the New York Foundling Hospital, and was a Lecturer in the Department of Special Education at Teacher's College, Colombia.
