Joseph McMahon joined the School of Law as Professor of Commercial Law in October 2004, having previously been a member of staff at Victoria University Wellington, New Zealand, the University of Leicester and the Queen's University of Belfast. Joseph McMahon joined the School of Law as Professor of Commercial Law in October 2004, having previously been a member of staff at Victoria University Wellington, New Zealand, the University of Leicester and the Queen's University of Belfast. His research interests lie in the area of international trade law and European Community law with particular emphasis on agriculture and food safety. Since the publication of his doctoral thesis European Trade Policy in Agricultural Products he has continued to publish in the area of agricultural policy. His most recent book in this area was published by OUP in 2006 - The WTO Agreement on Agriculture. He has contributed to edited collections on the European Union, and on international trade issues, and has contributed articles on agriculture to leading European and International law journals.
