Josef Katz

Josef Katz (1918-1990) was born in in Lübeck, Germany. In 1941, he was deported with thousands of other Jews to Riga Ghetto--over the next four years, he lived through the brutality of one labor camp after another and barely survived a final death march in 1945. Emigrating to the U.S. in 1946, he began life as a shipping clerk in New York, then went on to establish a successful textile concern in Los Angeles.
