Jopi Nyman is currently Vice-Dean for Research and Postgraduate Studies and Professor of English at the University of Eastern Finland, Joensuu campus. He is the author of more than 20 books on literary and cultural studies, including Memory, Displacement, and Travel in Contemporary Migrant Writing (2017), and the co-editor of the collections Affect, Space and Animals (2016), Ethnic and Racial Identities in the Media (2016), and Mobile Narratives: Travel, Migration and Transculturation (2016). He holds doctoral degrees in both English and Sociology from the University of Joensuu, Finland. His current research interests deal with transcultural literary studies, border studies, and human-animal studies. He is also an Executive Board Member and Program Chair of the Society for Multi-Ethnic Studies in Europe and the Americas (MESEA). See less
