An old friend of the diggers with many ancestors serving on the Western Front, he has traversed those battlefields for the last 25 years, led tours through France and Flanders, written articles for newspapers and magazines, appeared on radio and television shows and presented documentary films celebrating Australian achievements in this terrible theatre. Jonathan campaigned for years until the government agreed - as a 90th anniversary gesture - to hold Anzac Day Dawn Services at Villers-Bretonneux every year. See less
