Missionary church-planter (in Japan), pastor, and seminary teacher John Stephen Wright earned his B.A. with honors at Baylor University in Texas, USA; double minoring in Greek/Christianity, and majoring in Oral Communication. He went on to earn a M.Div. in Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Texas. John has more than 35 years of experience as a Bible teacher and preacher in the USA and Japan, has planted two Japanese language churches, and pastored two other international churches in Japan, as well as taught New Testament Greek and other New Testament courses at Tokyo Baptist Theological Seminary from 1991 to 2011. He makes his home and continues his writing ministry in the mountains of Nagano, Japan, and travels regularly to the Tokyo area for ministry. John is married to Rhonda, another MK (missionary kid) raised in Japan. The Lord Jesus brought John to faith in him at the age of 6. In his Jr. year in college, John discovered the Greek New Testament, and began his life-long love of reading and studying the Bible in Greek. John began "According to Jesus" (ATJ) Ministries in 2007 to equip churches and believers to fulfill the Great Commission by "teaching them to carefully observe everything I have commanded you." (MT 28.19) A lifetime of immersion in the Greek New Testament has equipped John to prepare the comprehensive studies of the life and teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ that are the core of John's writing ministry, and ATJ Ministries. John developed these materials over the 35 plus years of preaching, teaching, and disciple-making ministry in American and Japan.
