John Dixon was a research associate at the East-West Center's Environment and Policy Institute from 1981 to 1990. As leader of the applied economics research activity, he was involved in both methodological studies on the process of economic valuation and applied work on various resources including ground and surface water, drylands, mangroves, protected areas, and watersheds. Co-author or co-editor of several books on these topics, Dr. Dixon has taught and consulted widely for various national and international organizations. His undergraduate degrees are from the University of California at Berkeley (economics and Chinese) and his doctorate in economics is from Harvard University. See less
