Johanna Spanke ist Kunsthistorikerin mit einem Forschungsschwerpunkt auf mexikanischer und US-amerikanischer Kunst des 20. Jahrhunderts sowie deren transkultureller und intermedialer Verflechtungen. Johanna Spanke ist Kunsthistorikerin mit einem Forschungsschwerpunkt auf mexikanischer und US-amerikanischer Kunst des 20. Jahrhunderts sowie deren transkultureller und intermedialer Verflechtungen. Zwischen 2013 und 2021 war sie als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Kunstgeschichtlichen Seminar der Universitat Hamburg tatig, wo sie 2021 ihre durch ein Promotionsstipendium der Gerda Henkel Stiftung Dusseldorf gefoerderte Dissertation zur Genese des photomural im transnationalen Aushandlungsprozess zwischen Mexiko und den USA abschloss. Im selben Jahr war Johanna Spanke externe Lehrbeauftragte am Institut fur Kunst- und Bildgeschichte der Humboldt-Universitat zu Berlin sowie Forschungsstipendiatin der Hamburger Isa Lohmann-Siems Stiftung (Projekt "Widerspruch"). Seit August 2022 ist Johanna Spanke wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin bei Margit Kern in dem Forschungsprojekt "Visual Scepticism. Towards an Aesthetic of Doubt" (ERC Advanced Grant Horizon 2020) an der Universitat Hamburg. See less
